This week's work was researching about my topic, which was the exploration of why cyberpiracy is so rampant in underdeveloped countries and how can we work towards a solution that would benefit both consumers and content creators.
The research yielded results that showed how this problem is mostly due to the lack of infrastructure to properly monitor and defend against it, especially due to a lack of cooperation between countries to implement the needed technology and compliance to a certain standard.
As someone that lived most of his life in a underdeveloped country like Brazil, it was interesting to see how the government was actually trying to take steps into solving this issue, all the while also learning how hackers and cyberpirates operate, their distinctions and how they view themselves.
At the end of the day, the research made me reach to a conclusion that the betterment of these issues is something that would take a long time, especially seeing the past tries that resulted in some advances within countries that, after 10 years, got into the minimal standards for the world council that deals with disputes of copyright laws in international levels.
The future of information and content sharing is bound to be mostly virtual and as a game designer, I believe that it is my obligation to tackle these issues both inside and outside of the games I produce.
