Devlog 7
Coming back from the short 3 week hiatus was somewhat challenging for our group.
This week not only did we need to start getting on track to have some deliverables and production on different parts of the project, we also needed to change our whole board and workflow from one software (Miro) to another (Trello) as our foray into Miro had left us without some of the most important parts of the project, like the Gantt Chart.
We spent most of our time in class just shifting and rearranging our work from one software to another, which we successfully did, only to have to deal with a somewhat unfamiliar system and to finally start our Gantt Chart on Trello. It wasn't a pleasant experience but at least this time everything works as intended, which is weird as we still don't know what really changed from one year to the other in Miro. We speculate that we might've lost our access as a student/paid account and were left with the free account, limiting our access and functionality of the website.
Right now we do have everything working on Trello and our Gantt Chart is finally alive (and it's incredibly easier to keep track of activities and tasks thanks to it), so we passed on to actually working on the bare-bones functionality for the game. The team consists of 3 members, so I was in charge of setting up our canvas in Unity, which came with its own share of problems, from version errors to crashes, which is to be expected, as my computer is not what it once was. My teammates searched for audio/feedback sounds for the game and the other started working on the visuals for the U.I. that I've started putting in place in Unity.
Hopefully this first week does not reflect how things are going to go on the next weeks!
